Friends of Stead Park is excited to host the first ever youth chess tournament at Stead Park. The 2-day event will take place March 28th & 29th and is open to kids from all across the District. This will be a ‘Swiss style’ tournament; elementary age kids will play on Saturday and middle & high school age kids play on Sunday.

Join us for a FREE youth chess tournament open to students from across the District. Whether new to chess or a seasoned player, this tournament is a fantastic way to learn, compete, and connect with other students across the city.

$10,000 in scholarship prize money will be shared among the winners.
